Known by Independent Agents and policyholders as Western Pioneer Insurance Company until 1995, CWIC is a subsidiary of The Commerce Group, Inc., of Webster, MA, with over $4.6 billion in assets. CWIC is rated "A+" (Superior) by A.M. Best and ranks as one of the top 50 automobile insurance companies in California.

Our corporate office is located in Pleasanton, California where agency and policyholder support services are housed: Underwriting, Customer Service, Billing and Policy Processing, and Claims.
